Abstract: Make Vs Buy is all about a strategic choice of whether to insource or outsource certain activities of the business, production process which will gives both financial as well as long term competitive benefit. Its scope not only ends with insourcing or outsourcing, buying stakes or investing in other potential firms also gives a strategic benefit to the industry. Whether demand or supply side, there are many activities involved which are assessed by the companies to position their boundaries. In this report we have analysed the Baking Industry, competitive landscape and identified the sustainable procurement model & constituted a Make vs Buy framework on cost position vs strategic value for procurement decisions which is a strategic way. And also, we have analysed Britannia’s procurement materials and assessed each one of them and found a potential scope with Packaging category which is currently being outsourced. Our research leads to investing in the Packaging industry which is strategically & financially feasible and gives a long-term competitive advantage.
